This Day In History

I remember when 9/11 happened, everyone said they would never forget where they were and what they were doing.  I was sitting in the middle of Mr. Brooks 7th grade English class at warrensburg middle school.  Mr. Nelson, the head custodian, came in and whispered something to our teacher.  You could instantly tell something was wrong.  As our teacher walked towards the tv, she said nothing and as the whole room sat in silence, we watched as the images of smoke, people running in fear, and an overall sense of disparity shrouded every news channel in broadcast.  its not untill today that i would even dare to think that what i saw was set into motion by our own government, but thats beside the point.

I mention all this because today, all over the news, facebook, virtually anywhere you go you heard people talk about such a historic day in history.  The nations first “black” president.  Now i put black in quotes because some say, including myself, that he is not african american but thats a technicality so don’t even get me started on that subject.  Peoples status read on face book, ” im glad i skipped class to witness history” and so on. But i didn’t even remember that today was inauguration day untill i steped foot on campus and saw people horded around a projector displaying images of the first black president.  As i walked to one class i saw someone with a shirt displaying a horned image of obama with a title below that read “Antichrist 2009″.  So whats a person to believe, that were watching history in the making or that the media has portrayed dark skinned man the savior of our nation?  Im not sure where i stand. I didn’t vote for obama on the grounds of experience.  Clearly McCain had much more, he was a prisoner of war for crying out loud.  maybe im still bitter and some would say that im even racist, but let me asure you i am far from it.  What i am however is educated in the standings of the so called savior of the nation and how they are often overlooked by the overshadowing racial card and the sense of socialism that mr obama displays.  This is all i can say on the matter.

Anyway on to important things.  It seems like im going to have to spend a few hundred dollars more to fix up my worthless car as i won’t be recieving my financial aid check untill february 17th.  but to my supprise the total expense of the work is far less than i had initialy thought.  So hopefully that will be done in the morning.  well see.

I was plesently suprised that my history professor is super chill. I couldn’t ask for more.  he seems to care about every one of his students and he likes baseball so its a win-win situation.   when he called roll, he asked us to tell him what name we prefer to go by and when he came to mine, i said “you can call me Andy”.  I wore a flat billed brightly colored FOX hat today tilted off to the side.  He paused a while after penciling it in as if he was trying to choose his next words very carefully.  He looke at me and said ” you look like your mischevious.”  I was a tad shocked that someone i had known for 15 minutes could read me like a book and pin point my personality to a t.  I said ” yep u got it” and we both laughed.  I know this semister is gonna be awesome.  Design class was a bit boring but we only read over the sylibus and then she let us out.  Im glad my kit for the class was 60 bucks, thats a steal compared to last semesters 115.  so this looks like its shaping up to be a good year.  moving day is comming and im still not packed.  so it looks like my trasportation issue is coming to a quick fix and schools turning out to be exciting.  and that my friends is all she wrote, but in this case all he wrote.
